I completely second Michael's comments. This is a beautiful case. The welding, CNC milled thumb screws, tinted glass and silicone feet grips are top quality. The thick rubber grommets on the glass fittings keep any metal from touching the glass - preventing scratches and vibrations. It is evident significant engineering went into this case.
So what the **** is with these flimsy plastic latch mechanisms?
The two red latch buttons on the front and top of the case allow you to remove the top-half/front of the case to give you easy access to your reservoir or whatever. It's a feature. But OMG the this stupid latch design.
The marketing pictures make it seem like the top is locked to the case with large metal (~3/4") dowels that slide into the end cross-rails. Instead - it's ~4 mm long metal pins which are pulled into the cross-rails by pressing on the red plastic handles - it feels terrible. Like squeezing those old aluminum window screen pins my mom's windows had.
Getting the lid back into position and trying to get those pins to pop back into the locking holes is... just ...so bad. It is definitely the weakest peace of the case. I mean, from a distance ... it looks like this thing could hold up the corner of a building. But those dinky locking pins would snap off way before anything else on the frame.
It just feels like a weird black eye on what is otherwise a beautiful piece of design. 4/5 - would buy again.
All in all this is a very nice case, however there are a few areas that you should be aware of before buying. If you're looking for a two radiator setup with more than one 2.5"/3.5" hard drive things are going to get very tight very quick so plan on no more than one 360 Radiator and one 240 radiator... so if you're like me where you try to have 2 watts of cooling power for every 1 watt of heat load it can be tricky and you'll need a lot of compromise.
The second area of concern is more of a manufacturing/design issue. They use cheap plastic in the quick release pin set up that allows you to release the top or bottom of the structure. Mine arrived broken, however In-Win was very quick to send a replacement, so kudo's on their awesome customer service.
Third is more of a suggestion/gripe. At $1200 for the case, it would be nice if they at least included the option for some sleeved power cables, if not included them. The power cables that come with it are some of the cheapest looking cables I have ever seen.
Despite the above, the case looks nice and is aesthetically pleasing. The welds are high quality, and the case is heavy and sturdy. In-Win put a lot of attention to detail on it. If you're looking for a reservoir, the Monsoon MMRS reservoirs look really cool with it.
This case is an absolute masterpiece of craftsmanship. The attention to detail, even down to the screws for the modular mounting docks, is truly incredible. There's not a piece of plastic on the entire case! Though it is a bit pricey, it is without question one of the most beautiful and THE most well-made chassis I've ever come across.
Lucky you. Mine came broken, which is not something I expect in a case this pricey. And yes, there is plastic on this case... in a very critical area.
